American rapper NBA YoungBoy, real name Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, has been released from federal prison on 24 March, 2025, after suffering a string of legal issues affecting his music and personal life dramatically.
Legal Problems and Incarceration
In April of 2024, Gaulden was arrested at his home in Utah on 63 charges for a prescription drug fraud conspiracy. Among the charges were identity fraud, forgery, and illegal pharmacy practices. In November of 2024, he pleaded guilty to 10 of the charges, which earned him a fine of $25,000 and had the remaining prison time dismissed on these charges.
At the same time, Gaulden was charged with federal possession of a firearm as a result of a 2020 arrest. In December 2024, he was sentenced to 23 months in federal prison, with credit for time served, and 60 months of probation.
