South Park Returns After Two Years
The wait is finally over for South Park enthusiasts! The popular adult animated show is making a big comeback with its South Park Season 27 Release News. which will be premiering on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, on Comedy Central. The teaser also teases a big plotline involving Diddy accompanying the boys on some sort of clandestine mission. The last full season, Season 26, consisted of six episodes aired from February to March 2023, with three additional specials aired from October 2023 to March 2024. Season 27 will launch with two episodes on opening night, although the number of episodes in the season is still not confirmed.
During an earlier interview with Vanity Fair, the creators stated that they went on hiatus because it was too challenging to produce South Park during presidential election years. Stone described, “We’ve attempted to do South Park across four or five presidential elections, and it’s such a difficult thing to—it’s such a mind scramble, and it appears to take outsized significance.” Parker further added, “Evidently, it’s f—ing significant, but it kind of overwhelms everything and we just have less enjoyment. I have no idea what more we could possibly write about Trump.”

South Park Season 27 will debut on Comedy Central, its longtime home, and be available on Paramount+ following its initial TV broadcast. The $900 million deal completed in 2021 ensures South Park will continue through Season 30, with episodes continuing at least through 2027.
